Set Starting time of Screensaver

Step 1: Click on the apple icon on top left corner of your screen

Step 2: Select System Preferences under apple menu

Step 3: Select Desktop and Screen Saver

Step 4: Now, select Screensaver tab

Step 5: Select Screen saver that you want to set as screen from left side column

Step 6: Next, Click on Show  screen saver after drop down menu and select 1 minute time duration.

Step 7: After 1 minute of inactivity screensaver will appear. If you set 5 minutes screen saver will appaer after 5 minutes of inactivity and you can change these settings when ever you want

Set the Display Sleep time

Step 1: Click on Apple menu -> Select System Preferences.

Step 2: Now, click battery option.

Step 3: Select battery from left side menu again.

Step 4: Now, set the turn display off after slider to 10 minutes. If you set screen save to 5 minutes then set the display sleep to 10 minutes.

Step 5: if you dont want your mac to sleep set display sleep slider to never. If you set to never it wont go to sleep or black screen will not be shown on your macbook.

Restart Your MacBook

Step 1: Go to Apple menu -> Select restart from here. 

Step 2: Click on Restart on pop up box to confirm and wait for your macbook to restart.

If you are using intel based mac follow below steps

Step 1: Shutdow your mac -> wait for few seconds and press power button.

Step 2: Now after pressing power button immediately hold down shift key until you see login window.

Step 3: After you see login window -> let go off shift keys and enter login credentials.

Step 4: Now, screensaver should work fine and to exit safe mode you just need to restart your mac.

Step 4: Enter your login details once you see login screen and enter safe mode
