For MacBook with Silicon

Step 1: Shut down your Mac -> press and hold the power button until you see startup options on your macbook.

Step 2: Now, select startup options -> Select Startup Disk

Step 3: hold down shift key and click on continue and now click on continue in safe mode holding shift key.

Step 4: Now, release the shift key until you see login window and enter your login details and login in to your mac and restart your macbook to exit safe mode.

Intel Based Mac With T2 Chip

Step 1: Shutdown your macbook

Step 2: Now, on your macbook keyboard -> press and hold control + Option + Shift + Power simultaneously for 7 to 10 seconds.

Step 3: Now, press the power button to turn on your Macbook.

Reset PRAM or NVRAM

Step 1: Shutdown your macbook and wait for few seconds and press power button or touch id to turn on mac.

Step 2: Now, immediately press and hold -> command + P + R key until you get to hear startup sound for 2 times.

Step 3: if you are using t2 chip security then you need to hold down all the keys until you see apple logo appears and disappears on your macbook.

Step 4: wait for your macbook to restart and this can take upto 20 minutes.

For Intel Based Mac Reset PRAM OR NVRAM

Step 1: Shut down your Macbook and press power button to turn on your mac.

Step 2: Now, immediately hold down Command + R keys on your keyboard same time until you see apple logo or globe appears.

Step 3: Now, disk utilities window will appear on your Macbook screen -> Select Disk Utility option and Click on Continue.

Step 4: Now, select macintosh HD on left side pane and click on first aid option on top menu and click on run

Step 5: wait for your macbook to fix errors with your disk and once done then you need to restart your MacBook pr or Air.

For Apple Silicon 

Step 1: Shutdown your Macbook and press power button until you see startup options on your Macbook.

Step 2: Select startup options and click on continue and wait for macOS windows utilities window will appear on your mac.

Step 3: Select Disk utility and click on continue and follow onscreen instruction and reset pram or nvram on your macbook.
