How to Restore Default Icons on Windows 10 or Windows 11

In windows 10 if you want to restore your default icons on your computer then you can easily do that by following these simple methods by simply navigating to the user profile, so, lets see them in detail below.

To restore default icons on windows 11 computer you need to delete iconCache folder in c drive users app data, local folder. 

Step 1: Open up search menu -> type in Run command.

Step 2:  In run command type in -> %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local and press ok or hit enter.

Step 3: click on top view button -> select show hidden items.

Step 4: Now, locate iconCache folder and delta icon cache folder.

That’s it. Once you delete icon folder, you need to restart your computer inroder to make changes reflected and your windows 11 computer will restore its default icons on windows 11 computer.

Navigate to C Drive and Delete icon cache folder

Step 1: Open this pc and open c drive ->Users 

Step 2: Now, open your username folder -> Now click on view and select show hidden icons and folders (hidden items).

Step 3: Open AppData folder -> Open Local folder.

Step 4: Now in here you need to locate iconCache folder and delete icon cache file.

Now, you need to restart your computer 

Bring  Back Shortcut Desktop icons Settings

Step 1: Right click on desktop and select personalization.

Step 2: Click on themes on side menu -> Click on Desktop icon settings.

Step 3: Now, in here you need to select shortcut icons -> mycomputer, recycle bin, user files, control panel, network, 

Step 4: Click on Apply and ok.
