Before this new feature on whatsapp, if you have sent a message which has typos and you want then you will not be having edit option and you will be having option to delete if you have sent message to someone in whatsapp with friends chat or family chat or anyone on whatsapp and most of the whatsapp users use delete option and others receiver user wamr and additional application to see what you have sent and deleted as well and there are few apps which can restore deleted messages by using whatsapp notifications.

Edit a WhatsApp message once sent
To edit sent message on whatsApp you need to update your whatsapp to latest version to be authorized to use this feature first and if you have not updated your whatsapp to latest version then you need to update whatsapp and then attempt below steps to edit whatsapp sent message.
Step 1: Open whatsapp and go to whatsapp chat that you have sent to friend.
Step 2: Tap on hold and the message that you want to edit the conversation and correct the typo.
Step 3: Tap on Edit option
Step 4: Now, go ahead and correct the typo and change the message that you have already sent.
