How to Fix Airdrop Greyed out on iphone 14, 13, 12, 11 on iOS 14, 15, 16

  • Update iPhone to Latest version iOS 16.3 or later and turn on airdrop -> Settings -> Screen time -> Allowed Apps -> enable airdrop.
  • Force restart your iPhone and reset network settings to fix airdrop icon greyed out or disabled on iPhone 14, 13, 12, 11 etc.

Update Software

Step 1: Tap on Settings icon.

Step 2: Scroll down and tap on General

Step 3: Tap on Software Update and check for software update.

Step 4: if new version of software is available then tap on download and install latest iOS 16 or later iOS version on iPhone.

Once you update software to latest iOS version on iphone then go ahead and check with Airdrop on iPhone and Airdrop icon greyed out or Airdrop disabled option will be fixed.

Enable Airdrop on iPhone

Step 1: Open settings on iPhone

Step 2: Go down and Tap on Screen Time.

Step 3: Tap on Content and Privacy Restrictions.

Step 4: Tap on Allowed Apps

Step 5: In Allowed Apps -> Find AirDrop and toggle the button next to AirDrop and Enable Airdrop on iPhone.

Turn ON Airplane Mode and Turn it OFF

Step 1: Swipe from top right hand corner and access control center on iPhone.

Step 2: Now, tap on Airplane mode and turn it ON.

Step 3: Wait for 15 to 20 seconds and then tap on airplane mode and turn it off.

Once you turn on airplane mode and turn it off then your issue of Airdrop icon disappeared or airdrop icon greyed out or disable issue will be fixed.

Force Restart iPhone

Press volume up button and then volume down button and then instantly press and hold power button and dont let go power button if you see slide to power off and press and hold power button till you see apple logo and release power button and wait for apple iphone to reboot.

Once your iPhone reboots and force restarts then go ahead and check with airdrop icon and access airdrop settings and turn it on and airdrop icon greyed out or disabled will be fixed on iPhone 14, 13, 12, 11, etc.

Reset Network Settings

Step 1: Open settings on iPhone -> General -> Transfer or reset iPhone

Step 2: Tap on Reset and Tap on Reset Network settings and enter your iPhone passcode.

Step 3: Confirm resetting network settings in pop up box and wait  for iphone to reset network settings.

Once iPhone reset network settings, then go ahead and check with airdrop icon and airdrop will work normally and turn on airdrop and share files from iphone to any apple device using airdrop easily.

Airdrop not working on iphone 11, 12, 13, 14

Force restart your iPhone and Check you are connected to same wifi network and bluetooth is turned on and check with Airdrop settings and set to connect and received off or set to contacts only or everyone and set airdrop receiving to everyone and check.

Why is AirDrop not showing on iPhone?

If AirDrop is not showing on iPhone then you need turn on airdrop in screen time => content and privacy settings and in allowed apps and toggle the button and enable airdrop and turn on bluetooth and force restart iphone.
