Solution 1: Set your Airpods as Output Device 

Step 1: First Go to the Apple menu.

Step 2: Select “System Preferences” under Apple menu.

Step 3: Click “Sounds”.

Step 4: Select “Output” tab.

Step 5: Now select your Airpods as Output Device.

Step 6: Then check whether the Airpods are connecting to your Mac or not.

Solution 2: Refresh Bluetooth if Airpods not connecting to MacBook

Step 1: First click the Apple icon at the top-left corner of the screen.

Step 3: Click “Bluetooth”.

Step 4: Then click “Turn Bluetooth off”.

Step 5: After that Reset your Airpods. To do that, take your Airpods case and place your Airpods inside the case. Close the lid. Wait for 30 seconds and open the lid. With the lid open, hold down the Setup Button until the Status light flashing amber.

Step 6: Now restart your Mac.

Step 7: After that, Turn on Bluetooth via Apple menu->SystemPreferences->   Bluetooth->Turn Bluetooth on.

Step 8: Now select your Airpods and then click “Connect”.

Solution 3: Charge your Airpods/ Airpods Pro

Sometimes, your Airpods won’t connect to Mac because of low battery or airpods loosing battery (draining battery fast). So take your Airpods case and place your Airpods inside the case. Then connect the case to a power source and let charge for 1 hour. After that, connect the Airpods to your Mac.

Solution 4: Forget Airpods and Reconnect 

  1. First click the Apple icon at the top-left corner of the screen.
  2. Then select “System Preferences” under the Apple menu.
  3. Click “Bluetooth”.
  4. Select your Airpods from the list of devices and then click the X remove icon next your Airpods.
  5. Then select “Forget Device” to confirm.
  6. Likewise, select each device and Forget all devices.
  7. Now turn off “Bluetooth” and select System Preferences Window.
  8. Then place your Airpods inside the case but don’t close the case and keep your Airpods next to Mac.
  9. Now turn on Bluetooth via Apple menu->System Preferences->Bluetooth->Turn Bluetooth on.
  10. Then select the Airpods from the list of devices and then click “Connect”. 

Solution 5: Reset Bluetooth Module 

  1. Reset the Bluetooth Module
  2. Factory Reset all connected Apple devices 
  3. Enable Bluetooth logging
  4. Remove all device 
  1. Hold down the Shift+Option key and click on the Bluetooth icon at the same time.
  2. Then select “Debug” under Bluetooth menu.
  3. After that, click “Remove all devices”.
  4. Then again click “Debug” and select “Reset the Bluetooth Module”.
  5. Now turn on Bluetooth via Apple menu->SystemPreferences->Bluetooth->Turn Bluetooth on.
  6. Select your Airpods from the list of devices and then click “Connect”.
