Android GPS not working? Here is How to fix?

GPS Not working on android is a very rare issue and it can be fixed by several methods like toggle GPS Mode, Airplane Mode, Disable power saving  mode, Restart and reboot you android device, tweak GPS settings, update google maps, clear cache and clear data of google maps, update your firmware and factory reset your android device to fix android GPS not working.  On Any android phone there are many issues with GPS not working properly. How to fix GPS not working on Android Device

Toggle GPS Mode

Disable Power Saving Mode

Method 1: Toggle GPS Mode

Step 1: Switch on the mobile.

Step 2: Cruise down and switch off the GPS.

Step 3: Wait for about 15 seconds.

Step 4: Then switch on the GPS.

This is the simple method by which one can resolve the issue with GPS . If this method fails to solve your problem follow Method 2.

Method 2: Toggle Airplane Mode

Step 1: Switch on the mobile.

Step 2: Cruise down the status bar and Switch off the Airplane mode button.

Step 3: Wait for about 30 seconds.

Step 4: Then switch it on again.

This method might solve your problem with this method.  If no, follow method 3.

Method 3: Disable Power Saving Mode

Step 1: Switch on the mobile.

Step 2: Go to Settings.

Step 3: Go and select  Battery. 

Step 4: Select Power saving mode and click on it.

If the power save option is on then your GPS will not work. Make sure that power saving mode is off  before activating GPS .If this do not solve your problem follow method 4.

Method 4: Restart Your Device

Step 1: Switch on the mobile.

Step 2: Hold the Power button until unless it displays  the Restart option.

Step 3: Click on Restart.

The problem of android GPS not working will be fixed and if doesn’t then problem will be resolved with this method. If not , follow method 5.

Method 5: Tweak the GPS Settings

Step 1: Head to the Settings menu.

Step 2: Scroll to check for Location and tap on it.

Step 3: Under location mode, choose High accuracy.

This method solves the issue with GPS. If not, Follow method 6.

Method 6: Update Google Maps

Step 1: Go to Play store.

Step 2: In the search bar type Google maps.

Step 3: Click on Google Maps.

Step 4: Click on update.

Method 7: Clear Cache and Data for Maps

Step 1: Go to Settings.

Step 2: Scroll down and tap on Application manager.

Step 3: Under Downloaded apps tab, tap on Maps.

Step 4: Click on Storage.

Step 5: Tap Clear cache.

Step 6: Tap Clear data.

Method 8: Update Your Firmware

Step 1: Go to Settings.

Step 2: Scroll down and go to System update.

Step 3: Click on System update.

By performing system update your system is updated  to latest version. And GPS also updated  this solves the problem s with GPS.

Method 9: Factory Data Reset

Step 1: Go to Settings.

Step 2: Tap on Backup and Reset.

Step 3: Create a backup.

Step 4: Tap on Reset phone at the bottom of the screen.

This will erase all your data and it makes your phone a new one. With default settings. This method will surely resolve any issue with GPS.
