How to Fix VU Smart TV Not Connecting to WIFI internet

Check Other Devices Working Good

Connect the same wifi with other devices and check all they are working well. If  there is the same  problem with other devices by using wifi connection,  then the issue is with your router and broad band connection.

Power Reset

Step 1: Turn on your smart tv and unplug power plug from wall socket.

Step 2: wait for 30 seconds

Step 3: Plug back power cable after 30 seconds and turn on vu smart tv and try to connect vu smart tv to wifi internet and it will get connected without any issues.

Check Smart TV internet  access Through Another Network

Try connecting your TV with different network by using turning on your mobile hotspot and connect it through smart TV network settings menu. If smart TV access your mobile internet connection  over the other, then you can conclude that there is a problem with router.

Restart Your Router or Modem

Step 1: Disconnect all power cables connected to your router / modem

Step 2: Wait for 30 seconds and connect disconnected router / modem power cables.

Step 3: Now turn on your router and try connecting wifi to your vu smart tv. 

Once you restart your router / modem your wifi will get connected to vu smart tv successfully.

Check Parental Control Settings on Your TV Router

Most common issues causing your smart TV internet connection is parental control option because it uses a PIN or password to restrict the children from using or accessing inappropriate apps on the internet. So, turn off those options in your smart TV, atleast you will manage to get your internet to working. 

In router you will find a new set of access control option and these will let you ban from accessing the internet and router normally offer these three kinds of access options.

Step 1: First, you have find the LAN settings option and these will ban you some devices from connecting to wifi. It will ban all devices except which you want to allow and makesure that these settings are switched off.

Step 2: Next type of access control of your router may be found in parental control section in main menu of your router configuration. These will block all your internet address from your house hold devices  and these settings will depend on your router model, because it will depend on time base or device based access on internet then it will restrict internet access to some devices.

Step 3:  Then try switching off parental control and you can reconfigure it once your smart TV internet connection is solved.

Step 4: Next, it will depend on bandwidth control and these will ensure the available speed consumed by the each device. It is also one of the factor if you have a problem in connecting your new TV to wifi network. If bandwidth is low, some apps may not work.

Check Gateway and DNS Settings

Sometimes incorrect DNS  and internet gateway settings may cause the problem. These you can find in advanced network configuration option on your smart TV. Usually these settings are picked up automatically and some one may have changed it later. You can change this back to Auto or enter the router IP address.

Update Smart TV and router

It is very important that all your devices are updated regularly because updates contain some security which keeps you safe on online as well as to fix some bugs.
