After creating your Shopify store it’s very important to create top menu navigation and drop down menu in shopify store to make users navigate easily on your shopify store using menu and view products using drop down menu and turn them in to sales.
Shopify by default provides many different options to create menu and drop down menu in Shopify admin section in simple and easy way and display them on your shopify store easily by just with few clicks.
Create a menu in Shopify Store
Let’s see how to create menu in shopify section, first navigate to your shop admin section-> Online Store-> Navigation, Here by default you will be able to see two menus sections by default they are – Main Menu and Footer menu.
Main Menu is the one which displays the links of your menu by default on your home page and footer menu covers all the menu items which are displayed in the bottom of the pages like, privacy policy, about us, terms and conditions etc or you can keep what ever links you want to keep in footer section of your website.
After navigating to Navigation section in Shopify store section, Under main menu just go to Main menu items and add another Add menu item and click on it, you will be popped up with a screen with add menu item asking you with menu Name[title of the menu item] and a Link[where users go after clicking on this menu item] and after adding click add menu[if you want to cancel click cancel] button.
Since we are adding a new menu item just fill in with menu title name and link and click add menu.
That’s it after adding a menu in main menu just scroll down and save menu and you are done, your created new menu item will be displayed on the Shopify store main menu section.
Create a Drop down Menu in Shopify Store
After creating a main menu and having links to particular section of your shopify store by adding a menu now lets create a drop down menu in shopify store.
After creating a menu item if you want to create a drop down menu just drag and drop a side and simply arrange the menu item in which sub section it show appear and save it your drop down many will be appearing on your shopify store.
To create a Nested Menu in Shopify store this is the procedure to create and we will cover it in different section separately in detail. Here are few steps to follow:
To create a drop down menu list in shopify store we have to create another list of menu having links and collections of your shopify store first and we can do this easily by adding a new menu like (Main menu, footer menu), now lets create a drop down menu in shopify admin section by clicking on ADD MENU option which will be having all links to our drop down menu item.
Note: The new menu which we are creating a Drop down should exactly match the main menu list as the drop down you want to add it to[in our section you can look at sportswear in main menu and the same will be in new drop down menu name with sub menu links].
