MacBook air/ pro trackpad not clicking properly or won’t click:

Suddenly you turn on your MacBook air or pro and notice MacBook air/ pro trackpad not clicking properly or won’t click anymore or doesn’t respond when you physically click on trackpad, this occurs when your MacBook sometimes goes to sleep mode or any  kind of update or software installed etc and this can be fixed easily by following below steps, lets see in detail how to fix MacBook air or pro trackpad not clicking or wont click.

MacBook air/ pro trackpad not clicking properly or won’t click:

Turn off Apple Magic Mouse / Trackpad Bluetooth:

Some times apple magic mouse / trackpad may turn on automatically and you may face this issue, so go ahead and turn it off. Disconnect magic mouse trackpad and turn off Bluetooth on your mac.

Step 1: Click on apple menu->click on system preferences.

Step 2:Now click on Bluetooth icon.

Step 3: Click on turn off Bluetooth.

That’s it now go ahead and check MacBook air/ pro trackpad clicking properly or not. If the issue is with the trackpad then turning off Bluetooth will fix the issue of MacBook air/ pro trackpad not clicking properly or won’t click.

Reset SMC to fix MacBook air/ pro trackpad not clicking properly or won’t click:

Step 1: Shut down your mac and connect your MacBook to the power source(battery).

Step 2: Now hold down Shift + Control + Option + Power Button / touch ID simultaneously for 20 seconds.

Step 3: After 20 seconds let go the keys and turn on your mac.

Now once your MacBook restarts your MacBook trackpad will start working normally, after resetting MacBook air or pro it will work normally as it was working before.

Reset PRAM or NVRAM MacBook air/ pro trackpad not clicking properly or won’t click  

Step 1: Turn on your MacBook hold down option + command + P + R  Keys on MacBook air or pro simultaneous.

Note: Once you press turn on then hold these key combinations of above.

Step 2: Once you see the apple logo and appears and disappears for the second time.

Step 3: Wait until your MacBook air or pro restarts.

Once your MacBook restarts you will not be facing any issue of MacBook air/ pro trackpad not clicking properly or won’t click.

Turn off force click and haptic keypad MacBook air/ pro trackpad not clicking properly or won’t click:

Step 1: Apple menu -> System Preference

Step 2:  Click on trackpad

Step 3: Select point and click tab.

Step 4: click the check box of tap to click. ( if its not checked).

Step 5: Now unselect the checkbox next to force to click and Haptic feedback.

Repair the trackpad:

Step 1: Remove all the screws at the bottom and remove bottom carefully.

Step 2: Loose and tight the trackpad screws for few times and make sure everything is correctly fixed.

Step 3: Now go ahead and insert the bottom properly on your MacBook.

If there is a problem with screws then removing and tightening screws will resolve MacBook air/ pro trackpad not clicking properly or won’t click.
